The ONE TIME Swap to Safer

Food is complex. Food is emotional. Food is comfort, fun, fear, guilt…and so much more. We think about food a lot, and have lots of choices we need to make around it – simply put “what to eat” can be exhausting, especially when you’re at home 24/7 and always cooking.

I spent about 10 years of my life teaching nutrition classes, working one on one with countless clients, researching and studying food in every free moment. And you know what? I got super burnt out. So much to the point I haven’t seen a client or taught a class for “nutrition” in over 2 years.

I thought the food we eat was the end all be all. “You are what you eat” haunted me, and I thought way too much about what I was putting in my body for many years. Sometimes ignorance really is bliss!! I truly believe that the stress/overthinking, of trying to eat perfectly, can be worse than eating so called junk food.

When I started to learn about the ingredients we put on our skin, and how important that is to the overall puzzle of health, I was able to take a deep breath. Ahhh, ok, IT’S NOT JUST FOOD. It’s mindset, it’s movement, it’s what I put on my skin.

When swapping out your sunscreen, deodorant, mascara and eye cream – it’s just that, it’s a SWAP. If you find a company with high performing products – it truly is a one time swap. Not something like food that you think about and make choices around 3+ times a day. How liberating!! You can make choices that positively effect your health and you only have to make the choice ONE DARN TIME! Sign me up.

We’ve all got to eat, and hopefully we can enjoy our food and not overthink it. Because let’s face it…deciding what and how to eat IS CONFUSING. Everyone is telling us something different – the simple act of trusting our bodies and what we need is not even on the radar. Instead, it’s “should I eat vegan, paleo, raw?” and the list goes on. (More on this in another post!)

We’re all on this journey. Most of us want to be healthy, and live a long life. There are lots of factors, and the ones like personal care products, that have a big impact but I only have to think about once…those are where it’s at.

Sara

If you’re curious what products I recommend and use, please reach out via email, and follow me on Instagram @wellbeyondthekitchen where I share often about the products I use daily.

Most of my skincare, makeup, shampoo/conditioner, sunscreen and kids products are Beautycounter. Unfortunately it wasn’t a “one time swap” for me, and until I found Beautycounter, I spent a lot of time and money trying to find products I liked. The search stopped there, I became a consultant almost 4 years ago and have never looked back!
