Spring into Self-Care: A 3-Hour Mini Retreat

You know those people in your life who really light you up? The kind of friend who has great advice to offer, listens when you need listening, and after the visit or chat, you can feel that your soul has truly been fed. I hope you have at least one person in your life like this. And if you don’t, slowing down to tap into what kinds of people you want to surround yourself with is a great place to start.

It’s important to have relationships that are a balance – you give some, you get some. One of these people for me is my dear friend, and dare I say “guru,” Chris Morton. Chris is a yoga, meditation, and mindfulness teacher in Newbury, MA. I did my 200 hour RYT (training to be a Registered Yoga Teacher) with her in 2012. A year spent learning about breath, meditation, asana (yoga postures), and the yogic formula for happiness with this person who fuels my tank? Sign me up!

Fast forward a few years to 2015, and Chris and I taught many sessions of a class we called “The Yoga of Eating.” We prepared food for our students, discussed mindless/mindful eating at length, and taught a foundation diet based on real, whole foods. Most importantly, we shared the importance of slowing down and listening to your body.

Well, I’m so excited to announce that Chris and I are teaming up again for an upcoming workshop, “Spring Into Self-Care.” We’ve created a three hour experiential workshop designed to educate and motivate.

We will explore tuning into what sustains and nurtures you through:

  • Mindfulness
  • Mindful eating & seasonal nutrition
  • Establishing a meditation/relaxation practice to de-stress
  • Working self-care into everyday life, including caring for our bodies through the products we use

If you are interested in exploring new approaches to eating, mindfulness, meditation and bodily self-care, join, me, Sara Thielsen, RYT, NTP and Chris Morton, RYT, M.A.Ed. for this self-care mini retreat.

Date & Time: Sunday April 29th, 9am-noon (we’re also offering this same class a second time, Sunday May 20th)

Location: 88 Green St, Newbury MA
